Measured Steps
Hardship teaches hope
Life is sometimes hard. Hardship teaches us to hope in God. While we can’t see God, if we measure our steps, we can sometimes see the reflection of where God stands.
Faith encourages hope
Encouragement strengthens the spirit. The Word of God breathes faith into us. Faith encourages hope, and hope does not disappoint.
An invitation to walk together
Let us measure our steps together and walk with purpose. It is always a comfort to know we are not alone.
Author's Bio
“All things considered; we are breakable. Being shadowed with the uncertainty of our days, we look to God for those things that are certain…”
–Dolores Tucker
Truth and Compassion
Dolores Tucker has been the Executive Director of Truth and Compassion Ministries for the past 25 years, working with women in some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Indianapolis and offering them pro-life alternatives at abortion clinics. Her work in this field has seen Dolores receive the 2017 Respect for Life Award by Indianapolis Right to Life.
Prose with purpose
Dolores has been writing for some time and began with articles to help readers understand what the volunteers who work for Truth and Compassion Ministries see on a daily basis. Her experience with street ministry, where she has sometimes only seconds to “read” people and situations, has honed her descriptive prose abilities. Her book, Measured Steps, Bottled Tears: The Sovereign God and His Fugitive, was released May 2019 and is available on Amazon.
The Guiding Passion
Her love for Jesus is the guiding passion of Dolores’ life and her goal in writing is always to “get the thing the way it was.” She hopes that her words will be an inspiration to those who need encouragement and her ultimate goal is to communicate the Heart of God.

God's Call for Hope
Presence impacts Hope
On a Spring day in 1991, Dolores Tucker witnessed her first baby saved. A young woman chose life outside an abortion clinic.
Providentially, the young woman’s name was Hope. The very thing Dolores felt God calling her and others to give: hope.
Leading by serving
As Executive Director of Truth and Compassion Ministries, Dolores has been one of the leading advocates for sidewalk counseling in Indianapolis, Indiana for more than two decades.
With a constant, unwavering voice of calm and serenity, Dolores has offered women alternatives to abortion. In addition, she has taken countless other pro-life advocates under her wing, teaching them how to offer women seeking abortions love, compassion, friendship and most importantly hope.
